‘I Have Great Love for America’: Pope Leo XIV Discusses Possible U.S. Visit With NBC News


In a visit with “Nightly News” anchor Tom Llamas, Pope Leo XIV described his role as the first American supreme pontiff. “I have great love for America,” he said. “But I understand my mission as having a very important dimension, which is precisely being pastor of a universal church.”

  1. I love this Pope. I have very high hopes of good things to come because oif him. I believe there will be more strides made to return us to ancient traditions.

  2. I’m hoping he uses his American experience of the “melting pot” and separating “church and state” to continue guiding the Church. If we believe we are one nation under God, and the last 250-year record suggests that’s true.
    I even hope he calls for a Third Vatican Council. To reassert the superiority of the Church as evidenced by American evolution of Christ’s command to separate politics and religion, or God and Caesar. Much of the division and setbacks befallen the Church was due to mixing politics and religion. The post-Vatican II evidence since suggests it was meant to save all religion against enemies of God in all forms. Now that secularism and science have shown their limits, it’s time for the Church to reassert herself. 🙏🏽🙏🏿🙏🏻🙏
