Bubbles were a bit rubbish but it is so good to see joy break out like the apostles in the upper room. Yes to joy, super worship and hope, no to bubbles :-)
It can't really be 'sacrilegious' for the simple reason that there is no 'sacer' 'holy object' or thing - it's simply clerical mindlessness - no big deal - look at 50% of the bishops in the US -- would any of them stop this?
There is no explaining this. I actually was brought to tears seeing this. Totally disrespectful of what the Mass is. And seeing all the people joining in. I'm sorry to say, it is display like this that makes it hard to remain in the church.
When some people are asking for cracking down on the TLM as dangerous; at that point we have lost a sense of reality, a sense of the sacred then we say: Holy Mary…..pray for us sinners, now and in the hour of our death, amen.
This particular parish was founded as one of those new “Holy Spirit“ communities that was trying to use the evangelical Protestant church as a model… Even Cardinal George couldn’t rein them in. They have 1 foot out the door of the Catholic Church already… but I suppose the cardinal could crack down on them if he wants to.
Sad, very sad. I am in the second year of Diaconate formation(not in this Diocese). If the Priest at this church asked me to participate in a mess like this- I would walk out, inform the Bishop, and asked to be relocated right away.

ReplyDeleteSounds like slander, New Advent
ReplyDeleteCalling a spade a spade-it’s pure garbage like the last 50+ years.
DeleteFeeling pretty good about Cupich guiding the entire Church in worship. At least they're cracking down on that darn irreverent and dangerous TLM!
ReplyDeleteHorrifying & the man who allows this description is art of the group in charge of Masses for ALL Catholics around the world?

ReplyDeleteOur Archbishop would. Archbishop Alexander K. Sample, Portland, OR. He has an admirable record of living and guiding as a true disciple of Jesus.
DeleteArchbishop Alexander K. Sample of Portland, OR is one of those who do not look the other way. He is a blessing to all of us.
