Watch: Journalist Delia Gallagher asks Cardinal Cupich the best (and most pointed) question at today’s press conference

  1. Held accountable by whom Your Eminence? By what instrumentality? With what consequence?

  2. No, she asks "How are you holding EACH OTHER accountable." And Cupich basically says that he will only hold himself accountable. Quite disappointing.

  6. He did not answer the question nor alleviate the apprehension that similar to 2002, nothing will change. The woman mentioned Mr McCarrick in the context of the question relative to the very solidarity they are discussing, that is to say that all those who knew or suspected said nothing and this went on for a lifetime till the media blew it all up long after the damage was done.So far this has been a sad side show of empty platitudes and self preservation. It is an old movie that we have all seen before and sadly nothing resembling the first letter of St. Peter as noted in today`s celebration of the Chair of St Peter.

  7. Pray for our priests. Do not judge his response. After all what else could he say? He is acutely aware that he is alone with the Lord, as am I, as are you. That is the beauty of the sacrament of reconciliation. I, with the aid of God's grace, accuse myself and rec eive forgiveness, absolution and divine mercy.

  8. I knew Cupich in Rapid City where he was bishop and he wasn't very noble when he threw Fr Irwin FSSP because he was traditional and used the traditional absolution when he heard Confession.cupoch yelled at him and told him to leave the diocese. Cupich's rapid rise was because of Carrick who judged him rightly as a liberal Modernist. What matters for Cupich and his backers is his influence. He is a schemer like McCarrick. Francis is indeed foolish and should remove if not marginalise all McCarrick's associates. Until he does they provoke mistrust because we know what they are. Spawn of Carrick who wrongly were given their position through him. They are part of a network.

  9. It is evident, Cupich IS the Pope's lap-dog. I can't help but believe the homosexual subculture will continue to exist in our Church.
