Catholic politicians, Catholic bishops, the sin of scandal, and what it all has to do with you

The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines scandal as an attitude or behavior which leads another to do evil. I’ll give you an example. A guy cheats on his wife. A lot of people look up to him. They’re encouraged by his attitude, by his behavior, to do the same, or to think that it’s not that big of a deal. See, his sin just went from personal to contagious...

  1. Sugarcoating sinful behavior is enabling the behavior. For a priest or a bishop who has privately attempted to fraternal correct a Catholic politician who supports abortion & the politician refuses to repent & the priest or bishop does not follow up with clear church teaching on the matter, that enables the behavior. It sows confusion, division & disunity. God is not the author of confusion. When it is sent from God it comes with confirmation. But when it isn't sent by God, it will come with hesitation, frustration and confusion.
